So you bought the dress 6 months ago; the venue is organised, the photographer is booked and you are all set to be married, and oh no…..you have put on few pounds!

Well the dress definitely hasn’t shrunk and you can bet that the stress of organising your big day has had you reaching for the chocolate cupboard. Regardless if you are the Bride, Bridesmaid Groom or a Guest, Fussy is here to guide you into getting into shape and dropping those unwanted pounds ready for your big day.

The meaning of a Diet ?

Losing weight these days is deemed as being a huge burden for a lot of people and fad diets are becoming popular amongst our generation.   Has anyone ever read the meaning of DIET????.......no…well…diet actually means ….

‘’The sum of food consumed by a person or other organism’’.

&

‘’Dietary habits, are the habitual decisions that individual’s or cultures make when choosing what foods to eat.’’

So in fact we are all on a diet constantly, it just depends on what you eat and the quantities you consume.
Food really is just a fuel mechanism that keeps us moving, yet we seem to use food as a social aspect and not what it is really meant for.
So, Fussy is here to enlighten you and to provide some ideas to help you review your current eating plan and to see if we can help you feel good and look dam sexy for your big day ahead.

(Please note we do however stress that anything Fussy has written is for information only and you should always consult your local GP before taking part in any extra activities or any new dieting regime. Fussy will not take any responsibility for action taken by anyone.   After all, our bodies are precious, so look after them!)

Fads and Phase Diets

A diet really should consist of a good balance of foods and probably not the exclusion of carbohydrate’s or a milk shake remedy,  or boiling cabbage until its completely murdered so even it wants to climb out the pan! ..mmm yummy! We have all been there.

Even though some of these diets can work, because they are looked at for a short term fix people often find that as soon as you come off the diet…on goes all those hard to loose pounds and you are back to square one! Keeping a good mix of protein, carbohydrates, fruit and vegetables is essential to keep your body in good health. Now we are not saying don’t indulge once in a while but what we are saying is, if you want to feel sexy and look stunning then think about the food you choose to consume.

The well known  ‘Weight Watching’ companies have great balanced diet idea’s that are satisfying yet filling and some food plans even allow chocolate, crisps and even alcohol…..Yes I did say alcohol! Substituting certain foods for others can be a great  eating idea, for example, honey instead of sugar on cereals and jacket potato instead of chips. Its quite easy when you know how.

What goes in must come out ! musn't it

Everything we consume gets turned into waste, however sometimes eating the wrong foods can block the colon. Without sufficient minerals and vitamins the number 2 process can become difficult so getting the correct balance is vital for good bowel movement.

On your wedding day you want to feel refreshed and so maintaining a good diet on the lead up to the wedding will ensure that you feel comfortable and sexy. Drink plenty of water and make sure you eat a good balance of the right foods for you. Alternatively you can, talk to you GP about vitamin supplements if this is a concern for you, or a local pharmacist should be able to advise you.

Skin Issues

Eating bad foods can also have an effect on our skin which is a huge issue  prior to the big day. Having a clear complexion can be achieved by eating sensibly leading up to the wedding day. Make-up artists are fantastic and do a great job for the day but we all know how it feels when you get that spot, and no matter how much make up you put on you still feel like the spot and quadrupled in size.

By preparing your body for your Wedding you are also preparing your skin and by doing so, on the morning of your beautiful day you will feel like the princess you should and your skin will be glowing!

Exercise

In conjunction with a better diet, regular exercise plays another essential part in balancing the body.
No one is asking you to run the London Marathon or take part in the Olympics but some gentle walking or moderate exercise makes a whole difference to your body. Enjoying the fresh air is fantastic for the body and in 20 minutes you can boost the natural happy chemical in our brains called ‘Serotonin’ which has a significant effect on our moods and appetite. A good start to the day is paramount and this is crucial for your Wedding day!

Joining a gym is a great idea. There are instructors who can show you how to use the equipment and many gyms now offer an induction. This would introduce you to the machines and ascertain what standard of fitness you are at and how hard you need to work. Bear in mind we are all different and everyone works out at different paces.

If you do use a gym then perhaps joining some classes would be a good idea as sometimes going to the gym can be more of a social experience then a keeping fit regime.
