What do you buy a couple for their wedding day that have been together for years and who are already co-habiting with each other?
Today wedding gift lists are a great idea to help newlywed couples inform their guests what items they would like to receive on their big day.
Some people think this is a cheeky idea but we think it’s a clever and sensible option especially if you have invited a lot of guests. The last thing you want is 20 toasters with matching kettles! (Unless you collect toasters and kettles of course!)
Most large department stores now offer the ‘Gift List’ where the couple take a note of the items within that store they like and the guests then purchase an item which is then removed from the list.
This ensures that the couples preferences and taste are being considered.
Some couples choose not to have a list and rather than write a gift list they state on their invites -
‘my partner and I do not wish to provide a gift list as we have everything we need, however if you do wish to buy us a gift then please........-‘here you could say, money, vouchers or anything else you wish to advise your guests of.
Whatever you decide to, do let your guests know, as they do not want to feel embarrassed by not giving you something or the opposite, and buying you something extravagant that you really don’t want.

If you are buying for the bride and groom but money is a little tight then why not make something yourself. A great cheap wedding present idea, would be to collect some pictures from their friends and family members, and make a collarge of the happy couple together. This way they would know how much effort you had put into the present and they have a unique and thoughtful wedding gift all made and created by you!
Photo albums cost around £10 and pictures can be free if donated or can set you back a fiver if you have copies made.

We all know the "just married" t shirts and
flip flops are cheesy wedding gifts but they always go down a treat with the happy couple especailly if you have their names printed on them!

Club together
How about clubbing together with other people who are related to the couple and buying something a little more extravagent? This way by you all opting for the cheap wedding gift option, you actually end up with one expensive present!
Vouchers and Money
Some people dont like to give money as a wedding gift as they believe it to be unthoughtful. However, most couples getting married are happy to recieve cold hard cash as this can then be used towards
such things as their honeymoon or new home.
After all they have just paid out thousands for a wedding day and a little back sometimes helps!
If you are reluctant to give cash only why not attach it to something small such as a framed picture of the happy couple or a bottle of champagne? A picture frame would cost anything from as little a £5.
